WE THOUGHT YOU MIGHT ASK THAT!
1
How does the reserved boarding pass work? Do you accept reservations?
A reserved boarding pass guarantees you access to the boat for the time and date of your choosing. Like restaurants, the tables are assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. We do not use reservation systems like Open Table or Resy. You can purchase a reserved boarding pass here. During peak times in the summer, please arrive 45 minutes prior to departure if you want to sit outside on our top deck. Boarding begins 30 minutes prior to departure and ends 5 minutes prior to departure.
2
Do I have to exit the boat after my cruise?
Depending on the weather and the crowds, we might ask you to leave your table and relocate at a bar, but most of the time, there is plenty of room for guests to stay on the boat (at the bars) for multiple cruises. So, sit, eat, enjoy and then move to the bar and talk to our amazing bartenders.
3
Are children allowed?
Of course! Children of all ages are allowed on our regular dinner cruises and brunch. Children under 5 are free on our dinner cruises but children between 5-12 require a boarding pass. For Brunch, children under 2 are free but children between 5-12 require a child ticket which includes food and non-alcoholic drinks. For safety reasons, children under 10 are not allowed on the top deck of our boat. Our Sunday evening dance cruise, La Barca After Darka, is 21+, no children are permitted.
4
What is the cruise route?
Our 1 hour cruises, departing at 2pm, 4pm and 6pm, head north on the Hudson river to about 80th street and then turn around to return Pier 81. Our Brunch cruise and 2-hour 8pm cruises head south to the Statue of Liberty and back. *Note: Sunday evening dining cruises this fall are as follows: 5pm Sunday dinner cruise is 2-hours to the Statue & back, 8pm Sunday dinner cruise is 1-hour heading north.
5
How do I book a group?
If you have 14 or fewer guests in your party, please purchase reserved boarding passes on our website. With a group of 14 or less, everyone in your group must be present in order to be seated together. Also, we kindly request that for groups paying for food & drinks on board, please limit your check splits to three people. For groups of more than 15 people, please contact our group reservation team by filling out this form so that you can have a reserved space just for you.
6
What if it rains?
We sail rain or shine unless the rain is extremely heavy or if the winds are too strong for the boat to operate safely. In the event that we have to cancel a sailing due to weather, we will contact you to rebook you or to provide you with a refund.
7
How do I contact you to re-book?
Please email us at pier81info@nycl.com or by calling 212-630-8841. During peak times, we may not be able to answer the phone so email is always the best way to reach us.
8
Is there a smoking section?
Guests are permitted to smoke on the top, outside deck at the very rear (stern) of the boat. Smoking is not permitted inside the boat.
10
Can I celebrate my birthday on La Barca?
Of course you can! If you’re planning a big party (15 or more), please contact us using this form and we’ll get back to you right away to reserve your space. If you’re fewer than 15, please buy reserved boarding passes and arrive early so we can seat you together. Either way, we have cake available for purchase on the boat or you can bring your own for a $5 per person service fee. Unfortunately, due to coast guard regulations, lit candles are not permitted, even for a birthday. Boo!
